Crucán Na bPáiste - Karen Matheson
A true gem. One of the very best performances among the excellent songs in the Transatlantic Sessions 3. One of her career highlights as well. It appears that all the accompanying musicians in the studio are moved to tears within. Scottish Karen Matheson sings in Irish 'Crucán na bPáiste', a song about children's burial place in Co. Mayo in Ireland. The words in the refrain are taken from those said in crossing oneself and portion of Hail Mary. Included in her album Downriver (2005).

子どもの埋葬地についての歌をスコットランドのカレンがアイルランド語で唄う。
リフレーンの言葉は十字を切るときの文句と天使祝詞（聖母マリアへの祈り）とを
組合せたものに少し加えたもの。アルバム 'Downriver' (2005) 所収。
Additional notes: The writer of the lyrics of 'Crucán na bPáiste' is Brendan Graham, from Co. Mayo, who is a founding member of IMRO and co-wrote the famed song 'You Raise Me Up' used in 2006 Winter Olympic exhibition in Torino (Turin). The song has recently been awarded the 'Million-Air' appellation by US radio stations, which means it has been aired more than a million times. The air of 'Crucán na bPáiste' is that of the traditional song 'Cailín na Gruaige Báinne'.
